Understanding The Payment iQ Permission

This guide will walk you through how Payments iQ permissions work for users in TiQ.

Within the Payments iQ box in the Permissions section in a user profile, you’ll find 2 different permissions that can be granted:

  1. Payments iQ
  2. Hide Full Service Fee

- When the Payments iQ permission is checked, the user has the ability to:

- When the Hide Full Service Fee permission is checked, the user won’t be able to:

Manually add Ledger entries and run Batch Payments. (the +New… button in the Ledger will be hidden)

  • Generate Superbills.

IMPORTANT: The full service fee will be hidden for the user in the Ledger, Payment Detail Page, Event Form, and calendar appointments.

Additionally, the 'Payment' icon and 'Record Attendance' button will be removed in the event pop-up.

NOTE: This prevents the user from accessing the 'Confirm Services and Fees' page which also provides billing information.

The Hide Full Service Fee permission also limits access to fee-related information in the following areas:

  • Dashboard > Alerts > Operational Alerts: The Outstanding Balances alert will not be available.
  • New Event: The Copay, Co-Insurance, and Deductible fields will not be displayed.
  • Client Profile > Financial & Insurance Info: The Copay, Co-Insurance, and Deductible fields will not be displayed.
  • User Profile > Payout Details: Full Service Fee amounts will not be displayed. Applicable Pay Rate and Percentage Rate fields remain visible.
  • Individual Treatment Plan > Service Assigned: Service names remain visible, but the Full Service Fee will not be displayed.
  • Practice Manager > Services & Tags: The Services & Tags tab will not be available.
  • Payroll Report: The Payroll Report will not be available.

Disabling the Hide Full Service Fee permission hides the service fee amount in the client profile settings (under the Clinical Info tab).

This allows users to assign and confirm services without displaying individual fee amounts.

IMPORTANT: Even if the Payments iQ permission is unchecked and the Hide Full Service Fee permission is enabled, there are still some areas where fees may be visible. For example, in Client Files, since it stores all documents related to the client, such as claims, receipts, and other records where fees are visible.
