How to Assign a Supervisor to a Provider or Intern

In this guide, we will show you how you can assign a supervisor to a team member and give you a better understanding of the TiQ supervisor feature.

Note: If you do not have the permission to manage Team Members added to your profile already, you will need to reach out to a practice admin to get this permission added to your profile if you need to assign supervisors to providers. Click Here to Learn How to Manage Permissions

Important: The user roles that can be set as supervisor are:

  • Clinical Admin
  • Account Owner
  • Therapist
  • Nurse Practitioner

From Team Manager select the team member you want to add a supervisor to.

You will now see your Team Member's Profile

On the team member's profile select the Payer Setup tab.

From the Supervisor Billing Setup section select the ’+Add supervisor’ button

Begin typing and select the name of the supervisor you want to add.

If you would like to add more than 1 supervisor, select + Add More button

Note: By selecting the desired supervisor the Payers added into the supervisor profile will be displayed next to the supervisor field. These are read-only fields. If changes need to be made to them, it must be done in the supervisors profile.

Select Submit button to save your changes

When a supervisor is assigned to another provider, the toggle for the supervisor signature required will default to on for all documentation the supervisee/intern will be completing. The supervisor’s name (associated with the user) will populate on the documentation automatically.

When a supervisor is added, the supervisor will be able to add supervision notes to the supervisee profile that can be seen by both parties. Click Here to Learn about Supervision Notes

The supervisor will also be able to request a revision of progress notes and leave feedback notes to the supervisee directly on the progress note. Click Here to Learn How a Supervisor can Request Revision of a Progress Note and How the Revision Needed Alert Works

When a supervisee is assigned to a client, TiQ automatically includes the supervisors listed in Team Manager as part of the Treatment Team.
