How To Configure Claim Generation

In TiQ, you can tailor their claim generation settings to match your practice's workflow. You can choose to generate insurance claims automatically when events are marked as "attended" or wait until clinical documentation is completed and signed. Alternatively, claims can also be created manually from calendar events if necessary. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to configure these settings for your practice.

Navigate to Practice Manager.

In the Billing & Payment tab, choose the desired configuration from the "How are claims generated?" section.

- If "At the time clinical documentation is completed and signed" is selected.

Claims will be automatically generated only after the event's documentation is completed and signed.

NOTE: Clients must have insurance information added to their profiles for the system to generate claims.

- Alternatively, users can manually generate claims directly from calendar events if needed.

To do this, select the "List" view in the top right corner of the calendar.

In the List view, appointments will be displayed along with their event status and a three-dot menu on the right side.

To create a claim from the List view, click on the three-dot menu and select "Generate Claim."

IMPORTANT: This option will be disabled if:

  • The client does not have insurance information added to their profile.
  • The session has not been marked as attended.
  • The claim has already been generated.

A confirmation popup will appear, allowing you to confirm or cancel the claim generation.

If you click "Confirm," a message will appear confirming that the claim has been successfully generated

The claim status will be displayed in the calendar list view, with different colors indicating its current status.

Clicking the claim icon will open the generated claim, allowing you to review it and submit it for processing with the clearinghouse from the calendar.

The calendar event will display different status colors, each corresponding to the current claim status in Insurance iQ.

The claim will also be accessible through Insurance iQ.

Once submitted, the claim status will automatically update based on the claim processing.

- If "At the time attendance is marked" is selected.

Claims will be generated automatically when the event attendance is marked as "attended".

REMEMBER: Clients must have insurance information added to their profiles for the system to generate claims.

Once the event is marked as attended, the claim will be automatically generated in "Pending" status.
