When contracted/credentialed payers are added to your profile, you can choose how you want the system to handle claims and billable forms for clients under those payers. For this to work, you must first have a Supervisor assigned to your profile.

Once your contracted payers and supervisor(s) are configured, the system can take one of the following actions based on your selection: 

- Supervisor signature not required

When this option is selected, billable forms (Progress Notes, Treatment Plans, Biopsychosocial Assessments, Treatment Reviews, and Discharge Reports) will not require a Qualified Supervisor's signature. Additionally, claims generated for clients under that payer will display the provider's information (not the supervisor's) as the Rendering Provider in Box 31. 

- Require supervisor signature; claim shows provider information

When this option is selected, billable forms (Progress Notes, Treatment Plans, Biopsychosocial Assessments, Treatment Reviews, and Discharge Reports) will require a Qualified Supervisor's signature. However, claims generated for clients under that payer will still display the provider's information (not the supervisor's) as the Rendering Provider in Box 31.

- Require supervisor signature; claim shows supervisor information

When this option is selected, billable forms (Progress Notes, Treatment Plans, Biopsychosocial Assessments, Treatment Reviews, and Discharge Reports) will require a Qualified Supervisor's signature. Claims generated for clients under that payer will display the supervisor's information as the Rendering Provider in Box 31.

If the provider has multiple supervisors assigned, the system will search the supervisor list to find one who is credentialed with the same payer as the provider and apply the selected option.

If the provider does not have any contracted payers configured but has at least one supervisor assigned, billable forms created by the provider will require a Qualified Supervisor's signature, and claims generated from the provider's events will display the first supervisor's information as the Rendering Provider in Box 31.
