In TiQ, users can merge multiple claims into a single one, streamlining the process and improving billing accuracy. Click here for additional information on how to merge claims.
The users has the option to lock event after merging claims so any edits can be made and claim data will not be impacted. From practice manager under the billing & payment tab you will find the Lock Events After Merging Claims toggle under the Insurance Billing Settings dropdown.
If the toggle is ON when a claim is merged, its associated appointment is automatically locked in Calendar iQ to prevent changes. However, users with the Lock/Unlock Billed Event permission will be able to manually unlock and relock appointments if needed, ensuring greater billing accuracy.
This guide outlines the steps to manage locked events based on user permissions:
When the Lock/Unlock Billed Events permission is enabled in the user's profile, users will be able to manually unlock and relock appointments that were automatically locked due to merged insurance claims.
Important: Enabling the Financial Report permission in Reporting iQ will automatically activate the Lock/Unlock Billed Events permission in Calendar iQ. If the Financial Report permission is disabled, the Lock/Unlock Billed Events permission will be permanently disabled and grayed out.
When an insurance claim is merged with others, the related appointments are automatically locked and visually distinguished in Calendar iQ.
In the Calendar iQ overview, locked events will appear blurred and feature a lock icon in the top right corner for easy identification.
Locked appointments will have all options disabled except for the documentation icon, allowing users to initiate documentation even when the event is locked.
Users with the permission enabled will have the lock icon available and will be able to click on it to manually unlock the appointment.
After clicking "Proceed" to confirm the unlock, a pop-up message will appear, confirming the appointment has been successfully unlocked and all event options will be available again.
Unlocked events will appear fully visible again in the Calendar iQ overview.
To relock the appointment, users with the permission enabled will see the lock icon available allowing them to click on it to lock the appointment.
Once locked, all appointment options will be disabled except for the documentation icon.
Important: Users without the necessary permission will see the lock icon disabled and will not be able to manually lock or unlock appointments, but they can still start documentation if needed
